Apple has finally added support for the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons to iPhones and iPads with the release of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16. With this, you can now play all your controller-supported games on your Apple devices, which you can check here. In this blog, you will learn how to connect your Switch Joy-Cons to your iPhone and use it. These instructions also work for iPad running iPadOS 16.

How to Connect your Joy-Cons to your iPhone:

To begin, you will need to be on iOS 16. To check if you are on iOS 16, go to Settings > General > About. You should see the version number under iOS Version. If you don’t have iOS 16 yet, you can go to Settings > General > Software Update to see if it is available. Note that any iPhones earlier than the iPhone 8 won’t be able to update to iOS 16. Next, you will need to enable and be in the Bluetooth settings. To do this, go to Settings > Bluetooth and enable Bluetooth. Stay on that screen.

After, place one of your Switch Joy-Con into pair mode. To do this, press and hold the button on the side of the controller until the lights begin moving back and forth.

Then on your iPhone, you should now see your Joy-Con show up under Other Devices. Tap on the Joy-Con to pair the controller.

Now repeat these steps to pair your other Joy-Con.

Once both are paired, your phone will automatically sync both controllers to become a single controller.

From the home screen, open the Settings app


Select Accessibility settings

Scroll down to the Accessibility settings and select it


Select Touch

Under Physical and Motor section, select Touch


Select Back Tap

Scroll down until you see Back Tap and select it


Select Double Tap or Triple Tap

Now select Double Tap or Triple Tap


Select Function

And select the function you want to use this feature for. We chose the Camera app.
